Vitamate (Humic acid) (Phase I: 2009-14)

Farmyard manure (FYM) is not available in larger quantity and hence application of less amount of FYM to soils  lead to decrease in humic content in the soils.A simple technology was developed at MCRC on production of humic acid by using local resources and developed a product called  Vitamate. Vitamate is an Organic Liquid Fertilizer, rich in humic acid and used as a foliar spray. This is producedthrough recycling of locally available resources (cow dung and leafy biomass) . by liquid state. fermentation. The leafy biomass, cow dung  biodynamic herbal preparations and water were mixed in a plastic drum . and fermented  for 45 days. The manure is rich in  bioactive organic compounds and minerals which are required for plant growth.
